KAMOT-MIELEC
is a company that manufactures car components, mainly electrical wiring for
world’s biggest car manufacturers like Ford and
Volvo.
I
held a position of production line operator and my duties concerned taking care of
my station where I participated in the production of Volvo engine wiring. That was my first
real job that never fulfilled my ambitions or challenged me intellectually of
physically.
I resign on my own request.

The entire chain of stores were closed,
KT Kielce sold the facilities and all the employees, including me, were let go.

The company manufactures and provides full service of working clothes and uniforms to variety of customers across the country. It’s divided into two departments: manufacture and service which is responsible for washing, cleaning and delivering.
I was hired as a regular service employee but only after a year and a half I was promoted to the position of manager of service department.
My main duties were:
- Organizing the entire process of delivering and returning
- Planning and scheduling the deliveries
- Maintaining database and documentation
- Direct contact with the customers and company’s other departments
- Introducing new customers and implementing new solutions
- Maintaining fleet
- General office duties
I loved it. It was challenging and interesting. I quit on my own request but I know I’m still very welcome to come back even today.

A small two people company that
provided logistic and transport services across the entire Vestland region. Main
customer: DB Schenker Bergen.
I held a position of a
courier/truck driver.
Main duties were:
- Scheduling and organizing the deliveries
- Loading and unloading truck according to the mass and
balance requirements
- Direct contact with customers and dispatch office
- Maintaining database and paperwork
- Daily care and service the truck
With my experience from previous
jobs the main duties were not a problem. Of course a language barrier was a
struggle at first but the main challenge were Norwegian roads. I got my C class
driving license in Poland just before I came do Norway and never before had I driven a truck
outside the driving school. Jumping into driving the most dangerous roads in
Europe was quite a challenge.
I quit on my own request and move on to bigger
company.
One of the biggest companies in
the country, a part of Norgesgruppen corporation. BAMA provides a vast majority
of fruits and vegetables for the entire Norway and Storkjøkken department is
responsible for kitchen supplies (hotels, restaurants, cantines).
I held a position of a delivery
man and my main duties were:
- Organizing and scheduling deliveries and returns
- Active teamwork with other drivers and other
departments
- Delivering goods across Bergen region
- Loading and unloading truck according to the mass and
balance requirements
- Maintaining database and paperwork
- Customer care and support (direct contact)
- Daily care and service the truck
Although BAMA is one of the
biggest companies in the country, Storkjøkken Bergen department was created by
only 20 people including 4 trucks and drivers. We were all one team working
alongside, constantly in touch with one another as well as the customers. The
entire transport department moved to ASKO as a part of an inside Norgesgruppen
merger.
As well as BAMA, ASKO is a part
of a Norgesgruppen corporation. ASKO is supplying everything to everyone, starting
from the entire store chains up to small companys' cantines or little kiosks. My
position and duties moved from BAMA and basically haven’t changed, except for its scale. In comparison to BAMA’s 4 trucks and 20 employees, ASKO is a fleet
of 80 cars and 440 people divided in many more departments. My team to work
with and the range of operation have grown significantly.
I quit on my own
request to move back to Poland. I was assured I’m always welcome to come back.
